What is the NPRS Buddy Scheme?
The NPRS runs a scheme we like to call our Buddy Scheme.
When you first get a pouchie, it’s important that you have the support you need. It can be a tough time for new owners learning the needs and little quirks of a pouchie. Having someone there to help you with their experience and knowledge can make a huge difference.
The ‘NPRS Buddy Scheme’ is available to anyone new to keeping pouchies and are members of the society.
Not limited to just pouchies homed through UKPouchies breeders, but to all new pouchie parents, the buddy scheme provides you with a member closest to you. A buddy with experience with pouchies who will share with you a contact telephone number, and be on call to help 24 hours a day should you have an emergency or need advice.
We advise our buddies to call you at least once a week for a chat. This can be about anything but mostly for finding out how you are doing during the first few weeks of becoming a pouchie owner.
To become a buddy or find a buddy you must be a member of the NPRS.
