This an application form for a Pouched Rat pup from a NPRS Pouched Rat Breeder. Please be aware of the following points
This application form can be saved and continued at a later date using the "Save and Continue" button
Many of the questions in this application are quite indepth and may ask personal lifestyle questions. These are required in order to properly access your suitablity for a Pouched Rat
If you are not happy to answer any of these questions, we may not be able to process your application any further
This application form in no way guarantees you will be accepted to home a pouched rat baby.
While breeders may use this form to take applications. These questions are solely constructed by the NPRS and is review annually by the NPRS committee.

This needs to factor into your application as Pouched Rats have the potential to damage a property. Also changes to living arrangments could lead to you moving into a strictly no-animals property.

Please read and agree to the following statements
Completing these statements does not guarantee your application will be taken forward. Decisions are made by the NPRS committee along with the breeder. No single person choose to agree or disagree an application.
A 7+ year commitment
Pouched Rats can live in excess of 7 years. I can provide a forever home for my Pouched Rat through their entire life.
Daily free range and exercise
Pouched Rats need daily exercise and supervised free range. I can provide this.
If my Pouched Rat became ill i would take them to a vet capable of treating them. I would either have them insured or be happy to pay any price to have them fixed.
Cage and husbandry
My Pouched Rat will be housed large and solid metal cage, with a metal or perspex base. They will have fresh and dry food everyday, Be provided with accessories in their cage along with sleeping areas.
Breeding, spaying or neutering
I will under no circumstances breed my Pouched Rat unless this is directly agreed by your breeder or the NPRS. If my breeder advises me or stipulates in my contract. I will have my Pouched Rat spayed or neutered
Communication with your breeder
I agree to keep in contact with my breeder and NPRS throughout the life span of my Pouched Rat. To notify them of any illness, behaviour issues or other concerns, as well as any positive feedback.
There is no guarantee my Pouched Rat will bond to me, nor is there a guarantee my Pouched Rat will not bite me or refuse to bond with me. I have no expectations of how my Pouched Rat will be. I intend to make an unconditional and life long commitment.
My breeder will provide me a contract to sign before I can take my Pouched Rats. This contract will be a legally binding contract and I am aware that, should I break this contract, my breeder or the NPRS could take me to court or request the animal be returned to them.
